Under the new funding provided by Welsh Government, Aspire 2Be, in conjunction with Bridgend College, proposes a series of courses providing digital skills development relating to core cloud based solutions.  

The current pandemic has prompted a significant rise in the need for agile working, incorporating a digital skill set to seamlessly facilitate remote and blended working.  In addition to core skills development, our courses will target this opportunity to provide employees and employers with tools and best practice guidance on the use of digital tools to ensure business continuity.

Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) seamlessly and securely brings together messaging, meetings, docs, and tasks. This course will provide beginner level users some relevant tutorials, tips, inspiration and general help for many of the key Google apps, such as Drive, Shared Drives, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail Keep and Forms.

Through its Apps, Workspace offers a host of cloud based productivity solutions to streamline and maximise productivity in the business sector, particularly whilst working remotely. This interactive, hands on course will provide an in-depth overview of everything you need to know to make the most of Workspace.

Microsoft 365 offers a host of cloud based productivity solutions to streamline and maximise productivity.  

This interactive, hands on course provides an in-depth overview of everything you need to know to make the most of Microsoft 365. Participants will get hands on with tools such as OneDrive, Microsoft Teams and more. Microsoft Teams is helping to facilitate high functioning and responsive teams everywhere.  

This course will provide you with a contextualised approach to understanding how Microsoft Teams can enable remote and in person collaboration and build your digital skills to capitalise on the solution. A crucial part of the Microsoft 365 environment, Microsoft Teams, aligns with all the productivity tools that a productive team uses each day, including email, excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and more.

Collaboration can be challenging, even when everyone is in the office, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, 71 percent of small-to-midsize businesses have moved operations from the physical world to the virtual. Google Workspace includes a range of collaboration apps that are unique to the Business edition. In this course, we will help you to consolidate your understanding of Google Workspace and provide you with best guidance on how to utilise the solution with your team.

With real-time co-editing in Google Workspace, teams of staff can edit the same Doc, Sheet or Slide at the same time, which eliminates version control while teams are working from home. Changes happen instantly, so people can build on each other’s ideas and reach consensus more quickly with commenting and action items. If they still need to talk things out, team members can schedule a meeting via Calendar, have a Google Meet video call — without time limits — or hammer out the details using Team Chat. With Google Jamboard and Google Forms, you can streamline communication across the organisation, share relevant content with your employees, start discussions and let employees feel fully embraced as your company develops new working processes as part of what the “new normal” will look like.

Working remotely has introduced new challenges but also offers a wealth of opportunities.

In this course, we will help you to consolidate your understanding of Microsoft 365 and teach how to securely access your cloud storage as well as reach out to your colleagues instantly or via video meetings which is essential in our current environment.. Learn how to best leverage your Microsoft 365 environment to access everything you need to connect with your teammates and be more productive remotely. Within a virtual environment with a trainer, you will be able to use Microsoft 365 tools and apps in a simulated business environment. Participants will be able to communicate within Teams, using OneDrive resources and setting tasks and project milestones for colleagues using Microsoft Planner and Tasks. Along with navigating tools that help internal processes you will learn how to use apps such as Microsoft Forms to connect with clients and gain insights via Excel and Power BI reports to visually present back to your team.
