PT Arts Cafe Launch Night

Aspire 2Be in collaboration with A2B Active CIC were proud to host the official live launch of the Port Talbot Arts Cafe, a virtual space for Port Talbot’s artistic community to share performance, art and music. Delayed due to Covid restrictions, the exciting live launch took place on December 9th in Blanco’s Hotel, Port Talbot.

We were joined at the event by many special guests, notably including Donna Griffiths, Business Development Manager at Bouygues, who was in attendance to announce Bouygues’ sponsorship of the PT Arts Cafe, giving the initiative much-needed support. Guests also included Aberavon MP Stephen Kinnock, David Rees MS (Aberavon), civic leaders and officers from Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (NPTCBC), along with other industry representatives.

Featuring an evening of entertainment, we saw excellent performances from singer/songwriter duo The Jackson Flynn Thing, choreographer and dancer Harrison Campbell, and pupils from Ysgol Bae Baglan Drama Group. Additionally, local artists and photographers were displaying and showcasing their work, and were available to meet and chat.

The evening culminated in the exclusive announcement of the brand new Masterclass series, by Creative Director of the PT Arts Cafe, Actor Kyle Rees. This is a series of Masterclasses to be hosted by industry professionals and experts, aiming to help local aspiring actors and performers to learn the tricks of their trade. Famous actors Matthew Rhys, Tim Downie, Sam Heughan and West End performers like Sophie Evans have already signed up to host classes, with other well known names and celebrities to be announced shortly.

Stay tuned for more information on this exciting project early in 2022…….
