Covering security fundamentals, risk management, and incident response, the course provides a robust introduction to one of the most critical and fast-growing areas in tech.
Learners will benefit from expert-led tuition and guided preparation for industry-recognised certifications. They will also explore real-world cyber threats and develop the confidence to apply best practices in business and organisational contexts.
Who's it for?
This Skills Bootcamp is ideal for adults interested in entering the cyber security field, whether transitioning from a non-technical role or upskilling within IT. No prior experience in cyber security is required, though a basic understanding of IT systems and digital tools will be beneficial.

What you'll achieve
Learners will complete the following qualifications:
- BCS Foundation Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP) – a widely recognised qualification that introduces key security concepts, legislation, risk management, and security frameworks.
Plus one of the following vendor certifications (based on learner pathway and career goals):
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals – suitable for those interested in Microsoft security tools and cloud-based compliance solutions.
- Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate – designed for learners aiming to work in Security Operations Centres (SOCs). Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate – designed for learners aiming to work in Security Operations Centres and is ideal for those pursuing careers in monitoring and responding to cyber threats within enterprise environments.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner – provides an introduction to cloud security concepts within AWS, including secure architecture and compliance.

In addition to technical training, learners will receive comprehensive employability support designed to improve job readiness and support successful career transitions.
This includes:
- CV development tailored to specific job roles
- Interview techniques and preparation
- Guidance on reviewing and applying for live entry-level vacancies
- Interview simulations and confidence-building activities
- One-to-one careers coaching and personalised action planning
- Support with progression into further training, apprenticeships, or employment
- Employer engagement opportunities throughout the programme
All employability activities will be supported by a dedicated Employability Coach, working closely with learners to ensure they are prepared and confident.
