With the growth of big data and cloud technologies, the demand for skilled data engineers is rapidly increasing—and this course prepares learners to meet that demand.
The bootcamp focuses on essential data engineering skills including database management, data pipeline development, cloud integration, and the fundamentals of data architecture. Learners will be supported by industry professionals and work on real-world projects to build confidence and capability.
Who's it for?
This Skills Bootcamp is ideal for adults seeking to start or transition into a career in data engineering. It’s suitable for learners with a basic understanding of data and digital systems, or those with transferable skills from related sectors such as IT support, software development, or analytics. Prior experience in coding or cloud platforms is helpful but not essential.

What you'll achieve
Learners will complete the following qualifications:
- BCS Practitioner Certificate in Data Management Essentials – an industry-recognised qualification that introduces learners to the key concepts of data management, architecture, and governance within organisations.
Plus one of the following vendor certifications (based on learner pathway and career goals):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals – suitable for learners interested in data storage, processing, and analytics in the Azure ecosystem.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate – for those interested in designing and implementing data solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner – ideal for those beginning a cloud journey and looking to understand AWS infrastructure and services.
- AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate – ideal for learners pursuing data engineering in the AWS ecosystem, with a focus on data lakes, pipelines, and storage.

In addition to technical training, learners will receive comprehensive employability support designed to improve job readiness and support successful career transitions.
This includes:
- CV development tailored to specific job roles
- Interview techniques and preparation
- Guidance on reviewing and applying for live entry-level vacancies
- Interview simulations and confidence-building activities
- One-to-one careers coaching and personalised action planning
- Support with progression into further training, apprenticeships, or employment
- Employer engagement opportunities throughout the programme
All employability activities will be supported by a dedicated Employability Coach, working closely with learners to ensure they are prepared and confident.
