When I received an email from Aspire 2Be, introducing their new Digital Skills for Business qualification, I immediately thought that it would be an excellent opportunity for me.
I am always seeking to improve my digital skills knowledge, and with the course covering tools that I’d like to learn more about using – such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – I took the opportunity to sign up.
The enrolment process was great – very quick and easy. When I started my course, I found all the resources provided by my Trainer Coach were useful and helped guide me through tasks. I also found the online training session for Excel brilliant! It explained every aspect of tools I could use, and I have now used this to produce several documents, charts and show statistics to my managers.
The course has already significantly improved my skills – before, I was unable to use mail merger, understand the legal implications of data, use any tools on Excel except for basic copy and paste – now I can make a whole spreadsheet inputting data and reverting it to charts and even to forecast it! These new skills have really helped me to develop in my role. My Trainer Coach is also supportive and helps me with all my questions and is always available if I need more help.
My employers have fully supported me through this course and still do- they keep updated and even ask me what I have learnt so I can show them, they can really see the value of it. I now feel everyone in the office comes to me for IT support where before I would be asking others!
I would recommend this course to anyone who uses digital tools in their role – even if you feel that you have enough knowledge, this course can teach you so many things that make you work much easier. The saying ‘work smarter, not harder’ is perfect for this course, as this is what it has done for me.
