Alison Neale enrolled on Aspire 2Be’s Digital Skills for Business qualification after receiving an email introducing the programme. Always looking to improve her digital skills, Alison saw it as an excellent opportunity to develop her knowledge, particularly with tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
From the outset, Alison found the enrolment process quick and easy. Once she started the course, she found the resources provided by her Trainer Coach useful and supportive, helping to guide her through tasks and build her understanding as she progressed.
One of the highlights of the qualification for Alison was the online Excel training session. She found the session extremely beneficial, helping her understand a range of tools and features that she has since used to produce documents, charts and statistical reports for her managers.
The course has had a significant impact on Alison’s confidence and capability with digital tools. Before starting the qualification, she was unable to use mail merge, had limited understanding of the legal implications of data, and only used Excel for basic copy-and-paste tasks. Through the course, she has developed the skills to create spreadsheets, input and analyse data, convert information into charts and even use forecasting tools.
Alison also highlighted the support she received from her Trainer Coach throughout the programme. She described them as supportive, helpful and always available to answer questions whenever she needed additional guidance.
Alongside the support from Aspire 2Be, Alison’s employer has remained fully engaged with her learning journey. They have taken an active interest in her progress and regularly ask her to share what she has learned, recognising the value the qualification is bringing to both Alison and the organisation.
This growth in confidence has been noticeable in the workplace. Alison shared that where she would previously ask colleagues for IT support, she now finds that colleagues come to her for help instead.
Overall, Alison would recommend the qualification to anyone who uses digital tools in their role. She believes that even those with existing digital knowledge can learn new skills that make everyday tasks easier and more efficient, perfectly reflecting the idea of working smarter, not harder.
