Jodie Jones completed the Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification while working as a Teaching Assistant at Idris Davies School.
Wanting to develop within her role, Jodie felt that gaining a qualification alongside her work would be highly beneficial. After hearing about the Aspire 2Be Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification through Caerphilly Employment & Support, she immediately felt it would be a great fit for her.
Throughout the qualification, Jodie received strong support from her school. She was given time to attend meetings and catch-ups, complete coursework and assignments, and was provided with the equipment she needed, including a laptop, to support her learning.
The qualification has had a significant impact on Jodie’s confidence and professional development. She found that the learning helped her build experience and strengthen the skills she uses every day in the workplace.
Jodie also praised the support she received from her Trainer Coach throughout the programme. She found her coach approachable, supportive and always available whenever guidance was needed.
Another aspect of the course that Jodie found particularly valuable was the ability to use resources and experiences from her day-to-day role as evidence towards the qualification. This helped make the learning relevant to her work and allowed her to demonstrate her knowledge through real workplace practice.
Overall, Jodie described the qualification as hugely beneficial and would happily recommend it to others looking to develop their skills and confidence while working in education.
