Steven Poole completed the Cyber Security Skills Bootcamp through Aspire 2Be as part of his journey to retrain in a new technical field.
After sustaining an injury, Steven recognised the need to move away from customer-facing work and develop a new set of skills that would support a different career path. He discovered Aspire 2Be through the West of England Combined Authority while searching for a cyber security course.
For Steven, the training came at a pivotal time. As a career changer, he was looking for the opportunity to develop practical, future-focused skills. This skills bootcamp gave him the opportunity to build knowledge in cybersecurity and take an important step towards a fresh start in a technical industry.
Steven found the training highly beneficial, both in terms of the course content and the wider support available to him. Alongside developing his cyber security knowledge, he was also supported with the next steps in his journey, including improving his CV and preparing to present himself confidently to employers. This additional support helped him feel more prepared as he worked towards a new career path.
Steven also spoke very positively about his employability coach, Alex, highlighting the encouragement and guidance he received after the training. As someone changing careers, Steven found Alex’s support especially valuable, and felt it made a real difference in helping him move forward with greater confidence.
