Jessica Blakeney is a Learning Support Assistant at Orbis Group who recently completed her Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification with Aspire 2Be.
Jessica found completing the qualification to be a very beneficial experience which has enhanced her ability to meet the needs of the children she works with. The structure of the programme made learning straightforward, with clear instructions and expectations set from the beginning. This allowed her to stay on track and balance learning alongside her role in the classroom.
Throughout the qualification, Jessica developed her understanding of key areas such as safeguarding and its importance within education, as well as exploring different techniques to support learners effectively. She also gained a deeper understanding of how to meet the individual needs of each child, something she has been able to apply directly in her day-to-day role.
Jessica noted that a key strength of the course was how practical it felt. Each unit of work could be applied to real classroom situations, giving her valuable knowledge and strategies to help manage more challenging situations with confidence.
The qualification also encouraged her to reflect on her own practice, supporting her ongoing development and helping her to continuously improve in her role.
Jessica also noted how supported she was throughout the course by her trainer, Chloe. Whenever she needed support, Jessica was able to reach out and receive the help she needed, which contributed to her overall positive experience. Having consistent guidance available made a significant difference to her journey and helped her feel confident as she progressed through the course.
Overall, completing the Level 3 qualification has helped Jessica to build her confidence, strengthen her skills, and enhance the support she provides to learners within the classroom.
