Elizabeth Dowdall from Bevan College recently completed her Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification with Aspire 2Be.
Supported by Chloe, her learner coach, Elizabeth described the course as flexible, which meant she could balance her work schedule alongside her studies and still get the most out of the experience.
Elizabeth also highlighted how the support she received helped her to complete the work in a structure that suited her best. With a mix of online and in-person meetings, she was able to build her communication and digital literacy skills, which supported her to complete the qualification ahead of schedule.
Throughout the qualification, Elizabeth strengthened her understanding of legislation and policies, which has helped her to feel more confident in how best to support her learners. She was also able to apply what she studied during the course by adapting lessons based on the approaches she explored. In addition, feedback from Chloe’s observations helped Elizabeth to reflect on her practice and continually improve her understanding over time, allowing her to build on what she was learning in a practical and meaningful way.
Overall, completing the Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification has helped Elizabeth to strengthen her knowledge and develop her practice, supporting her to build confidence in how she works with and supports learners in her day to day role.
