I currently work as a Teaching Assistant in Idris Davies School and decided that I wanted to develop within my role.
I felt that gaining a qualification at work would be really beneficial for me. I heard about the Aspire 2Be Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (STL) through Caerphilly Employment & Support, and immediately thought it sounded like a great fit for me.
My school has been a fantastic support throughout this qualification, allowing me time to attend meetings and catch ups, and complete coursework and assignments. They’ve also even supplied me with a laptop and any equipment I needed to do the course.
So far, the whole course has benefitted me hugely. It’s really helped me to grow in confidence, and I can already see that it’s going to give me so much more experience. It’s really going to level up my work-based skills.
My trainer coach has been great – she’s so supportive and is on-hand whenever I need her. It’s also been really useful to be able to use resources and experiences within my role as evidence for the course too. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone!
