I originally decided to take on the Digital Learning Practitioner qualification to further my own professional development and enhance my CV. However, on reflection I realise that the completion of this qualification has benefitted both myself, my pupils, and my school.
The qualification motivated me to find out about new educational trends, and it really boosted my confidence. I felt empowered when I was able to talk and report on things that are already staple methods of teaching and learning digitally within my classroom.
During my monthly modules and assignments, I was able to undertake research to gain a deeper understanding of digital tools and educational technologies. I was able to be creative and independent in the way in which I presented each module to my mentor, and I thoroughly enjoyed recording my findings in new and innovative ways, making my work visually appealing.
I met with my trainer coach monthly, and her support and guidance were invaluable. She was always willing to help if a question ever arose, even between meetings. They provided encouragement and help wherever required.
Completing the qualification has enabled me to gain valuable skills, has empowered and motivated me in the classroom, and allowed me to ensure my teaching of digital skills is relevant and up to date.
