Digital Skills for Business Case Study – Paul Williams

Paul Williams, a Product Manager, is currently working towards the Level 3 Digital Skills for Business qualification through Aspire 2Be.

Paul enrolled on the course as an opportunity for further personal development within his current role, with the aim of strengthening his knowledge and building skills that could support him in his day-to-day work.

Since beginning the qualification in May 2024, Paul has thoroughly enjoyed progressing through the course and has completed around 25% of the programme so far. From the outset, he found the course easy to navigate through Smart Assessor, allowing him to focus on developing practical skills that could be applied directly in the workplace.

As he worked through the qualification, Paul found that the learning quickly became relevant to his role. His first three assignments — Digital Communications, Digital Collaboration, and Spreadsheet Software — gave him a fresh outlook and introduced new skills that he has already been able to use to his benefit on a day-to-day basis. The course has helped him build confidence with digital tools while also giving him new ways to approach everyday tasks more effectively.

he support Paul has received throughout the course has also played an important part in his experience. He has found his monthly meetings with his Trainer Coach, Clare, invaluable in helping him stay on track with each assignment and work through any obstacles with confidence. Having that consistent support has made it easier for him to maintain progress and get the most out of the qualification.

Overall, Paul has been extremely positive about his experience so far and is looking forward to continuing his learning as he progresses through the rest of the course. For him, the qualification has already provided practical value, helping him develop useful digital skills that support both his current role and his wider professional development.
