The BCS Foundation Certificate in Information Security and Management Principles (CISMP) - Level 3 is an accredited short course that will give you a clear understanding of IS management issues.


Accredited by BCS, this programme provides a focused route to upskilling while still delivering a recognised qualification at Foundation.

You will explore real-world scenarios and complete guided activities that support confident application of new knowledge and skills. Learning is supported by tutor guidance and resources, with flexible delivery available to suit your role and schedule.
 
The course will help you to develop a clear understanding of information security management including risk management, standards, legislation and business continuity.
 
By the end of the CISMP course you will have developed confidence in your knowledge of the concepts relating to information security management, and be able to demonstrate your progress through an accredited certificate.

Modules:

  • Knowledge of the concepts relating to information security management
  • Understanding of current national legislation and regulations which impact upon information security management
  • Awareness of current national and international standards, frameworks and organisations which facilitate the management of information security
  • Understanding of the current business and common technical environments in which information security management must operate
  • Knowledge of the categorisation, operation and effectiveness of controls of different types and characteristics

Assessment is completed through an externally set multiple-choice examination, aligned to the awarding body syllabus. You will complete guided preparation and practice questions before sitting the exam. Successful completion leads to an accredited certificate.
