Through this course, you will discover the fundamentals of data on Microsoft Azure, building a clear understanding of how modern data systems are structured and used. You’ll gain a high-level overview of key data concepts, Azure data services, and analytics approaches, helping you make sense of data solutions and contribute confidently to data-driven projects.

This course introduces relational and non‑relational data, common workload types, and the building blocks behind cloud data platforms. You will explore core services across storage, databases and analytics, and learn how they combine to deliver secure, scalable solutions. We connect concepts like batch versus streaming, structured versus unstructured data, and the roles found in a data team to practical examples you can apply straight away.
 
With Aspire 2Be’s expert guidance, you’ll understand how Azure services such as Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Synapse Analytics fit together, and what to consider for governance and cost control. By the end of this course, you will be able to contribute confidently to data projects and take the next step on your certification journey.

• Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Storage fundamentals
• When to choose key‑value, document or column stores
• Consistency, throughput and partitioning basics
 
Module 4: Analytics on Azure
• Azure Synapse Analytics and real‑time insights
• Data ingestion and transformation patterns
• Visualisation options and next steps

The Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals assessment is online and proctored, with multiple‑choice and scenario‑based questions that test understanding of core data concepts and Azure services. You will have 45 minutes to complete the exam, with standard Microsoft exam policies on retakes and accommodations. Successful candidates earn the Azure Data Fundamentals certification.
