MICROSOFT BUSINESS SKILLS

Microsoft Teams Essentials

Course Information

Build confidence in the essential features of Teams and make collaboration smoother and more consistent with our Microsoft Teams Essentials course.

Explore the core building blocks of Microsoft Teams—teams, channels, and the structures that keep conversations organised. Learn how tabs and apps bring essential tools directly into your workflow, when to use channel posts versus chat, and how to keep files structured and easy to find.

We cover the essentials of Microsoft Teams, from scheduling meetings to sharing content, using reactions and notes, and managing recordings so people can catch up quickly. Throughout, we highlight small habits that make a big difference, like naming conventions, @mentions that prompt action and using search to find what you need fast.

You will practise setting up a channel for a simple project, adding the right apps and agreeing a few team basics so everyone knows where to put what. By the end of this Microsoft Teams course, you will understand the basic components, how channels are created and used, how to work with tabs and apps, and how to run straightforward meetings with confidence.
